A hand-painted papier-mâché lacquer box of octagonal form. The exterior is decorated with figurative scenes depicting men in traditional Indo-Persian costume, including turbans and long tunics. These figures are set within interior scenes defined by black and green grounds with white-dotted lattice patterns. The colour palette includes shades of red, green, ochre, and black, with fine white detailing throughout the compositions. The box is of two-part construction with a removable lid.
