A pair of decorative animal-themed candlesticks of cast resin? construction. The set consists of two anthropomorphic figures, featuring a leopard? and a monkey, both rendered in a seated, upright posture. The figurines are mounted on circular bases decorated with overlapping green leaf moulding, and each animal wears a crown of matching foliage which serves as the nozzle for a single candle. The pieces are finished with a textured polychrome paint in neutral tan and buff tones with deep green accents, featuring a deliberately distressed surface intended to emulate the appearance of aged hand-carved wood or stone. The bases are flat and show no legible maker marks or inscriptions.
