A pair of miniature field cannons of decorative form, styled after mid-19th-century artillery pieces such as those used in the American Civil War?. Each model features a multi-stepped brass barrel with a flared muzzle and a rounded cascabel, mounted upon a dark-stained wooden carriage. The spoked wheels are detailed with sixteen individual spokes and simulated rivets around the rim, constructed from brass. The wooden trails are fitted with various brass components including side plates, lifting handles, and small decorative chains suspended from hooks at the rear trail. The brass components exhibit a light, even surface patina and minor oxidation consistent with age. The carriages include functional-style fittings designed for desktop display.
