A collection of three tropical bird figurines hand-carved and painted in balsa wood, comprising one parrot and two toucans. The parrot is decorated with yellow and green plumage and a dark beak. One toucan is finished in black and red with a large orange-yellow beak, while the second toucan features earthy brown and red tones with a long, curved beak. The figurines are mounted on integral wooden bases. The bases retain various labels, including a printed sticker for the fair trade importer TUMI, stating the items were hand-carved and painted by indigenous settlers of the Amazon. Handwritten provenance labels indicate the pieces were purchased in Weymouth and Killarney in 1995, and the Algarve in 1996, with the latter noted as being hand-carved in Ecuador.
