Two polychrome-decorated glazed porcelain figural groups, likely of German manufacture, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The larger group depicts a gallant couple in idealized 18th-century costume. The gentleman is modelled wearing a pale yellow frock coat with floral motifs and pink striped breeches, while the lady wears a pink corset-style bodice with a floral-patterned skirt. They are positioned upon an ornate rocaille-moulded base featuring gilded scrolls and a fluted classical column. The second, smaller figurine depicts a seated youth holding a bunch of grapes, dressed in a light blue coat and pink floral breeches. This figure is set against a frame and base heavily encrusted with finely modelled applied porcelain flowers and foliage in the Dresden style. Both pieces feature gilded highlights. No maker’s marks are visible.
