A large 20th-century wall mirror designed in the Continental Rococo taste. The oval frame is elaborately decorated with deep-moulded scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and shell motifs, finished in a bright gold-toned gilding. The construction consists of a composition material over a wooden substrate. The oval mirror plate is clear and appears to be original to the frame. The design is characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century decorative furnishings produced in the Louis XV revival style. No maker’s marks are visible on the frame.
