Each composition depicts an arrangement of roses in a vase; one features a cluster of white and red roses in a cream vessel, while the other shows yellow and pink roses in a green-glazed pot. Both works exhibit a commercial style with prominent impasto brushwork used to detail the flower petals against dark, neutral backgrounds. The paintings are housed in matching, ornate rococo-style moulded frames with a gilt finish and scrolling foliate ornamentation. One painting is signed Kelly in the bottom right corner, and the other bears a matching stylized signature in the same location.
