A vintage S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 gas pocket lighter featuring a classic engine-turned design with vertical ribbing. The rectangular body is finished in gold plating over a base metal. The base is clearly stamped with the script S.T. Dupont signature and PARIS, with the MADE IN FRANCE mark partially visible above. The underside also features a small square maker’s hallmark and a unique hand-struck serial number. The lighting mechanism consists of a hinged lid and a horizontally oriented flint wheel with an adjacent adjustment screw. A threaded screw-cap on the base plate allows access for gas refilling. This model is consistent with the Ligne 1 large size (BS) produced in the mid-to-late 20th century.
