A British First World War military issue pocket compass by J. Haseler and Son Ltd, Birmingham. The compass is housed in a nickel-plated hunter-style case. The reverse of the case is engraved with the broad arrow Pheon mark above the inscription J. HASELER and SON LTD BIRMINGHAM 1914. The interior of the front cover is stamped with the serial number 106801. The white dial displays cardinal points in black and red, surrounded by a 360-degree scale, and features a central magnetic needle mounted on a brass pivot. The case is fitted with a suspension bow and a push-button release mechanism.
