A collection of original vintage motorcycle trials competition signage and promotional ephemera, primarily featuring branding for Motor Cycle News (MCN) and Avon tyres. The lot includes two large hardboard-mounted placards for OBSERVED SECTION STARTS and OBSERVED SECTION BEGINS, the latter including an advertisement for Motor Cycle News priced at NINEPENCE. Also included is a large red FINISH placard and several smaller card markers. These include directional signs with a white arrow on blue for Avon, a pink card for R (Right), and multiple cards printed with SO. (Section Observed). Several items carry the MCN tagline The paper that caters for the sport and indicate pre-decimalisation pricing of 9d. (nine pence). The graphic design and typography are characteristic of the 1950s and 1960s British motorsport era.
