A mid-20th-century Numerstamp stencil stamping kit manufactured by Harry Sinclair Limited of Manchester. The outfit is presented in its original compartmentalised box, constructed from heavy card with a brown faux-crocodile skin textured paper covering. The kit comprises two cast metal hand stamps, each featuring a large spherical grip knob and a rectangular base. Both stamps retain their red manufacturer’s labels, which read Numerstamp Patent N. 237076 Harry Sinclair Ltd Manchester. The box also contains a small circular tin and a collection of original paper ephemera, including instruction sheets and stencils. The interior lid is affixed with two large printed labels. The left label identifies the product as a rubber stamp substitute and includes patent information and the manufacturer’s address at 74 Manley Road, Manchester 16. The right label is titled Follow Instructions Carefully and provides detailed directions for use. A footer on the label states that the outfit was made for use in the British Isles only.
