A large heraldic shield-shaped plaque constructed from a heavy metal substrate with a vitreous enamel finish. The dexter side of the shield features three white roses arranged vertically on a field divided horizontally into red and blue, which are the arms associated with the county of Hampshire. The sinister side displays a yellow cross on a white ground, enclosed within a red engrailed border. The plaque is designed for architectural or civic mounting, featuring four pre-drilled holes located at the corners and the bottom apex. The reverse side is finished in a dark, weathered coating and bears two contemporary white adhesive labels printed with the number 1009. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on either side of the object.
