A polychrome glazed earthenware figural group depicting a jovial monk, likely serving as a smoker’s companion or desk tidy. The monk is portrayed wearing a traditional brown habit with a knotted rope belt, holding a blue and white pitcher incised with the letters KB, a mark frequently associated with Kulmbacher Bier. The figure stands beside two hollow cylinders shaped like barrels, positioned on a naturalistic rock and grass effect base. The base includes a shallow integral tray at the rear. The underside of the piece features the impressed numerical mark 2073. The style and decoration are characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century ceramic production from Germany or Central Europe.
