A large polychrome porcelain figural group depicting a pastoral grape harvest or vintage scene. The central composition features a white ox harnessed to a two-wheeled cart carrying a large vat with gilded hoops. Three figures are depicted: a male standing on the cart pouring grapes into the vat, a female figure in a blue skirt and red bodice holding a large wicker hod, and a young boy in striped breeches kneeling on the rocky base whilst picking grapes. The naturalistic base is decorated with rococo-style scrolls and gilded accents. The piece is finished in polychrome enamels with detailed modelling of the draped clothing and anatomical features of the figures and animal. The scene includes numerous clusters of purple grapes and green leaves attached to textured vine structures. No factory marks or model numbers are visible. The style and execution are consistent with Continental porcelain from the late 19th or early 20th century, in the manner of German or French manufacturers.
