A decorative porcelain figural posy bowl or centrepiece, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece is in the style of Continental porcelain manufacture and features a central figure of a young woman with blonde hair dressed in a lilac gown with floral sprig decoration. She is depicted reclining within a large, rococo-style shell or sleigh-shaped vessel. An elegantly curved swan stands over the figure, its wings also embellished with hand-painted floral motifs. The entire composition is set upon a base formed of stylised green foliate and wave-like scrolls, further decorated with applied red and yellow flowers. The piece is finished with polychrome enamels and highlights in gilding. A small hand-painted floral sprig is visible on the interior of the shell. No factory marks or model numbers are clearly discernible in the images provided.
