A vintage cast brass lidded container of cylindrical form, characteristic of Southeast Asian metalwork and identified by market consensus as a Cambodian betel nut box. The piece is manufactured using the lost-wax casting technique. The exterior of both the lid and the base is decorated with dense, repetitive motifs consisting of concentric circles and braided wire-style borders. The lid is surmounted by a cast figure of a quadruped, likely a deer or goat, which serves as a finial. The interior is unfinished cast metal showing surface oxidation. No maker’s marks, stamps, or inscriptions are present on the object.
