In the style of 19th-century Fez Mokhfia pottery, this enamelled glass bowl features a translucent white body decorated with a central geometric quatrefoil design. The central motif contains stylised green foliate designs and chequered patterns in green and gold-toned enamels. This is surrounded by an outer border consisting of alternating panels of blue and green geometric lattice work and small floral designs. The piece is finished with a broad metallic rim that is secured over the edge of the vessel. The decorative scheme is characteristic of Moroccan ceramics from the Fez region, though executed here in enamelled glass. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
