A collection of ceramic items featuring a variety of decorative jugs and vessels. The group includes a lidded porcelain tankard decorated with a wrap-around transfer-printed nautical scene of a three-masted sailing ship, finished with a hinged pewter lid featuring a shell-form thumbpiece and gilt-edged borders. A large character jug, in the style of the Leonardo Collection, depicts a seated man in a burgundy coat and black tricorn hat, holding a puppy and a floral-decorated placard. A traditional full-figure Toby jug is presented in a uniform monochrome brown glaze. The collection also features a tall ceramic vase with a flared rim and cream-textured ground, decorated with oriental-style motifs including phoenix birds and floral sprays in multi-coloured enamels with gilt highlights. A small character jug depicts a seated figure in a blue coat with white and yellow accents. Completing the group is a pair of small character jugs featuring relief-moulded portraits of a historical male figure in a ruff collar; one jug is embossed with the letters GOOD and the date 1588, and both are finished in a tonal brown and cream glaze. The collection includes examples attributed to Sylvac and the Leonardo Collection.
