A vintage petrol pump dial face manufactured by Beckmeter, the brand of Beck and Co. (Meters) Ltd., London. The item is made from sheet metal and features a central aperture for the drive shaft, flanked by two smaller mounting holes. The face is printed with black numerical markings from 0 to 19 in a circular configuration, calibrated for Imperial gallons. The Beckmeter brand name appears in a stylised cursive script within a rectangular border in the lower-left corner. A matching border in the upper-left contains the operational instruction: See that both hands are at ZERO before delivery commences. The word GALLONS is printed vertically to the right of the centre. Two small metal tags are riveted to the lateral edges, one marked 0 and the other 1/2 GAL. This dial is characteristic of those found on positive displacement flow meters used in British fuel dispensing equipment during the mid-20th century.
