A pair of vintage British military ammunition boots, corresponding to the pattern issued to the Royal Air Force as Ordinary Airman ankle boots. The boots are constructed with pebbled leather uppers and contrasting smooth leather toe caps, featuring a seven-eyelet lacing system with original black cord laces. The heavy leather soles are fitted in a traditional military configuration with steel hobnails for traction, reinforced with metal toe plates and horseshoe-shaped metal heel rims. The waist of the leather sole is clearly stamped with the numerals 10 and 5, representing the size and width fitting respectively. This pattern of footwear was standard issue for British forces during the mid-20th century, spanning the Second World War and the post-war era.
