A late Victorian turned mahogany sewing reel stand of traditional form. The circular base is fitted with metal pins for holding thread spools, surrounding a central turned baluster-form pillar. The upper section features a deep turned bowl housing a ring-shaped, fabric-filled pincushion, which surrounds a central wooden thimble stand topped with a rounded finial. The stand is sold together with an assortment of vintage wooden thread spools.
