An Art Nouveau cast metal dressing table frame featuring a circular frame with a high-relief design. The relief depicts a semi-nude nymph with flowing hair and diaphanous drapery, reclining within a landscape of organic, swirling floral and plant-like motifs. The piece is signed J. Causse in the casting to the lower right, identifying the work of the French sculptor Julien Causse (1869-1914). The reverse is fitted with a circular mirror plate held by two swivelling metal tabs. A hinged mounting arm is attached to one side, indicating the piece was originally part of a vanity or dressing table suite. The metal is cast brass or bronze with an aged golden patina. A worn, illegible circular stamp is present on the inner back rim.
