A late Victorian or Edwardian carved oak pedestal together with a separate circular upholstered plinth. The tapered square-section pedestal is crafted from solid oak and features a stepped square base. The central column is decorated with classical revival carvings, including a foliate mask, floral bosses, and a raised pyramidical panel. The accompanying circular plinth is ornately carved with acanthus leaf scrolls and surmounted by a fixed circular upholstered pad. The piece lacks any visible maker’s marks or stamps.
