An Anglo-Indian folding side table from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, likely originating from the Kashmir or Hoshiarpur regions. The table is constructed from dark-stained solid wood, possibly Sheesham or teak. The detachable top is of quatrefoil form with a scalloped edge, deeply carved in high relief with a central leaf design surrounded by scrolling foliate and grapevine motifs. The table is supported by a three-part interlocking folding base, intricately decorated with pierced and relief-carved floral patterns. This style of furniture was popular during the Victorian era for ease of transport and as decorative occasional pieces.
