A contemporary studio pottery vase of tapering cylindrical form by the potter K.A. Hoghton-Norton. The vessel features a prominent high-relief sculptural bust of a woman’s head in repose, rendered in an unglazed pale cream ceramic. The face is depicted with closed eyes and a peaceful expression, set against a dark, mottled grey and black glazed body. The exterior is further decorated with incised linear patterns reminiscent of fabric folds or organic textures. The piece bears hand-painted marks in black near the base reading KA HOGHTON NORTON.
Length: 21.5 cm.
