Another Great Auction
This collection of cranberry glass items features a variety of forms, with several pieces resembling the Country Cranberry pattern by Fenton Art Glass. The assortment includes a large ovoid vase with a moulded floral and foliate design and a wide, hand-crimped ruffled rim. There is a bulbous glass basket with optic ribbing and an applied clear glass overhead handle, along with a matching jug featuring similar ribbing and a clear glass handle. The collection also comprises a tall bud vase with vertical optic ribbing, two smaller vases with vertical ribbing and hand-crimped rims, and a small scent bottle complete with a faceted clear glass stopper. The items display the characteristic translucent pinkish-red colour of cranberry glass, achieved through the addition of gold chloride. Construction techniques include blown glass, optic moulding, and hand-applied elements. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the pieces.
