A collection of three vintage portable lighting devices comprising an Ever Ready signal lantern, a Powell and Hanmer carbide lamp, and a cylindrical metal torch. The signal lantern is of rectangular form, constructed from metal, and features a riveted plaque with the vertically oriented text EVER READY and REGISTERED TRADE MARK. The carbide (acetylene) bicycle lamp is manufactured by Powell and Hanmer Ltd of Birmingham, as evidenced by the stamped circular mark on the side. This lamp features the traditional arrangement of water and carbide chambers and is finished in a silver-toned metal, likely nickel-plated brass. The third item is a cylindrical handheld torch with a plated metal body and a flared lens housing.
