A large lidded porcelain pedestal urn of Italian manufacture, featuring a deep cobalt blue glaze and extensive gilded accents. The baluster-form body is decorated with polychrome transfer-printed panels in a Chinoiserie style, depicting a bird of paradise amongst flowering peonies and branches. The piece is flanked by two prominent, ornate twin handles modelled as stylized birds with heavy gilding, and the domed lid is topped by a matching bird-form finial. . No manufacturer marks are visible as the porcelain base is obscured by the wooden mount, though visually identical items are attributed to Italian porcelain workshops of the mid-to-late 20th century.
