A solid English oak double stool or low side table by Robert Mouseman Thompson of Kilburn. The rectangular top features a traditional hand-adzed finish, creating the characteristic undulating texture associated with the workshop. The piece is supported by four octagonal faceted legs, which are joined by a low-level H-stretcher for stability. A signature mouse is carved in high relief on a chamfered corner of one leg. The construction utilizes seasoned English oak throughout, showing prominent medullary rays.
