An extensive assortment of twentieth-century books and publications contained within three plastic crates. The collection includes several volumes from a set of works by Charles Dickens in uniform red hardcovers with gilt-decorated spines, featuring titles such as Bleak House, Martin Chuzzlewit, and The Pickwick Papers. Also present is a significant selection of British comic history and annuals, including The Beano and The Dandy – Focus on the Fifties, The Penguin Book of Comics, and various Beano and Dandy annuals. Military and aviation history is well-represented by titles such as Vulcan 607 by Rowland White, RAF Acklington by Malcolm Fife, and The Battle of Britain by Richard Hough and Denis Richards. Reference and regional works include Whitaker’s Almanack (1961), AA Treasures of Britain, AA Book of British Towns, and Mining in Cornwall (Volumes One and Two) by J. Trounson. Further topographical volumes focus on Bath, The Broads, Edinburgh, Filey, and Scarborough. The collection is housed in mixed bindings including publisher’s cloth, pictorial boards, and paperbacks. Some ephemera is visible within plastic protective sleeves.
