Another Great Auction
This lot comprises two German porcelain figurines of different subjects. The first figurine depicts a lady in 18th-century style dress, wearing a pink tricorn hat and a red bodice with gilded accents. She holds the hem of a voluminous skirt which features vertical panels of yellow and white stripes decorated with polychrome floral sprays. The base bears an underglaze blue mark consisting of a crown over stylized initials and a semi-circle of five dots. The second figurine presents a romanticised scene of a chimney sweep and a young woman in an embrace. The sweep is dressed in traditional black clothing with a top hat and carries a black ladder, while the woman wears a blue skirt, a white apron with a spoon tucked into the waistband, and a grey polka dot headscarf. This figurine is marked on the underside with a green factory stamp for Müller & Co. of Volkstedt, featuring a crown above a letter M within a circle and the word GERMANY. It also bears the impressed model number 7213.
Heights: 15 cm and 13.5 cm.
