Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two antique two-part interlocking belt buckles. The first is a George V sterling silver nurse’s buckle of pierced openwork design, featuring scrolling foliage and floral motifs centred by an eight-pointed star motif. This piece bears hallmarks for Birmingham, 1923, including the anchor, lion passant, and lowercase gothic date letter y. A maker’s mark is present but is not clearly legible. The buckle is currently mounted on a navy blue grosgrain ribbon. The second item is a large white metal two-part buckle with a cast and pierced design depicting a mythological or pastoral scene with various figures, including cherubs and classical subjects, set within a rococo-style scrolling frame. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on this piece.
