Buyer's Premium:

A large two-part composite brooch in the Austro-Hungarian Renaissance Revival style, dating to the late 19th century. The piece comprises a horizontal bar top with a suspended cruciform pendant, crafted from a yellow-tone metal, likely silver-gilt. The design features intricate scrolling foliate and fleur-de-lis motifs. The cross is centred with a large blister-style pearl, surrounded by multiple oval and round-cut red and purple stones, likely garnets or paste, set in collets. Interspersed throughout the clusters are smaller pearls and round-cut green stones, possibly peridots or paste. The settings are decorated with polychrome enamel work in red, white, and blue, depicting small floral and scroll patterns. The horizontal bar top has scrolled terminals and a central circular cluster mirroring the design of the pendant. The reverse of the bar is fitted with a traditional long pin and a simple C-clasp.
Total height: approximately 85 mm
Width of bar: approximately 50 mm
Width of cross: approximately 40 mm.
