Another Great Auction
An early 20th-century bar brooch, constructed from yellow metal tested as 14ct gold. The design features a central openwork motif of interlaced curvilinear form, housing a single bezel-set oval cabochon turquoise of green-blue colour. The central setting is mounted onto a simple, polished horizontal bar with squared ends. The reverse is fitted with a hinged pin and a traditional C-clasp mechanism. A small loop for a safety chain is attached to the rear of the central motif, though the chain itself is absent. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are present.
