Another Great Auction
A lot consisting of two items of British sterling silver. The first is a sifter spoon featuring a scalloped, circular bowl decorated with star-burst and floral-motif piercings. The handle is of a tapering form terminating in a geometric openwork design. The reverse of the handle bears the following hallmarks: the maker’s mark B.V for Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, a three-towered castle for Edinburgh, a lion passant for sterling silver, and a gothic lowercase p for 1921. The second item is a plain sterling silver napkin ring of D-shaped profile. The interior displays a vertical row of hallmarks including an anchor for Birmingham, a lion passant, and a lowercase a for 1900, with the B.V maker’s mark below.
