A lot comprising two framed oil landscape paintings of differing styles. The larger work is an oil on canvas depicting a tranquil riverside scene with a prominent gnarled tree in the foreground and a cottage nestled among trees, signed I. CAFIER vertically to the lower right. The second, smaller work is an oil on board depicting a rural cottage and a winding road, rendered in a modernist style with heavy palette-knife impasto, signed G. GERMOND vertically to the lower right. Both paintings are presented in ornate gilt-finished composite frames with scrolling rococo-style corner and centre ornaments.
