Another Great Auction
A vintage hand-painted wooden attraction sign, likely originating from a British fairground or carnival. The rectangular wooden plank features a hand-painted depiction of a character resembling Mickey Mouse on the left-hand side, executed in a folk-art style with pink, black, and red tones. The centre and right sections of the sign contain hand-painted text that reads KID’S RIDES in red with grey drop-shadowing. To the far right, the price 2/- (two shillings) is indicated, signifying pre-decimal British currency and dating the piece to before 1971. The board is constructed from a single weathered plank with visible grain. There are small holes at the left and right edges where the sign was formerly mounted.
