Another Great Auction
A pair of ceramic wall pockets designed as halved globular jars intended for mounting against a flat surface. Each piece is constructed from a reddish-brown terracotta earthenware clay body, with the interior and flat reverse left unglazed. The exterior is finished in a glossy, mottled cobalt blue glaze with a speckled texture. The form of each vessel features a wide neck with a flared rim and a single small loop handle to the side. One vessel contains a small white adhesive label on the interior with the inventory number 4851. No maker marks are visible.
