Another Great Auction
This mid-20th-century synchronous electric mantel clock was manufactured by Smiths English Clocks Ltd under the Sectric brand. The clock features a dark brown Bakelite case with a stepped base and rounded upper corners, housing a square silvered dial set within a chrome-finished bezel. The dial is marked with black Arabic numerals, a peripheral minute track, and SMITHS SECTRIC above the centre, with MADE IN ENGLAND at the base. It is equipped with black hour and minute hands and a slim central sweep seconds hand. The rear metal plate is embossed with the maker details, including the SEC registered trade mark logo, operating voltage (200/250V 50~), and several British patent numbers: 366710, 369436, 374718, 384441, 484222. Operational instructions TO SET HANDS and PRESS & TURN KNOB are also present.
