Another Great Auction
A collection of vintage infant footwear and hosiery of United Kingdom origin, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The first pair are dark brown leather T-strap shoes, featuring a single strap with a round button closure and a decorative stitched leather leaf detail on the toe. They are constructed with smooth leather soles and the interiors are currently stuffed with tissue paper for shape retention. The second pair consists of pale blue lace-up booties fashioned from textured leather with sueded leather soles and wide ribbon laces. The interior of one bootie shows a handwritten numeral 7 in blue ink and faint, illegible printed marks. Completing the lot is a pair of cream-coloured fine-gauge knit socks with openwork lace-patterned detailing to the legs and feet, likely of cotton lisle or silk construction.
