Another Great Auction
This lot comprises three decorative porcelain objects. The first is a Chinoiserie-style birdcage ornament featuring a pagoda-shaped roof and a square base in cobalt blue and white glazes, detailed with hand-painted gilt wavy borders. The cage is formed of silver-toned metal bars with a gold-toned acorn finial and contains a stylized blue and white porcelain bird on a metal perch. The second item is a seated figure of Hotei, the Laughing Buddha, crafted from white bisque porcelain and depicted holding prayer beads. The third piece is a square porcelain trinket box with a fitted lid featuring a hand-tinted equestrian hunting scene with a huntsman in a red coat jumping a fence. The sides of the box are finished in a mottled green and tan vellum glaze. No makers’ marks are visible on the items.
