Another Great Auction
This patinated bronzed sculpture depicts a hunting dog, possibly an Irish Setter or Pointer, captured in a dynamic searching pose with its head lowered and tail curved upwards. The piece is executed in the realist Animalier style, featuring detailed modelling of the animal’s coat and muscular form. The figure is finished with a dark brown patina that shows some wear on the raised highlights and traces of green verdigris oxidation within the deeper recesses of the casting. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular, polished grey and white variegated marble plinth. No artist signature or foundry marks were found upon inspection.
