Another Great Auction
A Smiths Empire open-face pocket watch manufactured in Great Britain. The watch features a chrome-plated base metal case with a polished finish. The cream-coloured dial is detailed with black Arabic numeral hour markers, a peripheral rail-track minute scale, and small luminous dots at the hour intervals. A recessed sub-seconds dial is located at the 6 o’clock position. The dial is signed SMITHS EMPIRE and MADE IN GT. BRITAIN. The blackened steel hands are in the cathedral style with aged luminous inserts. The case back is engraved with a central five-pointed star containing the profile of a bird of prey, flanked by the date 19 51. The watch contains a manual wind mechanical movement.
