Another Great Auction
A set of four glazed porcelain figurines from the Beatrix Potter collection, manufactured by Royal Albert in England. The group includes four character studies: Jemima Puddle-Duck, depicted wearing her signature blue bonnet and red paisley shawl; Hunca Munca Sweeping, a mouse character shown with a dustpan and brush; Little Black Rabbit, depicted standing and holding a wicker basket filled with carrots; and Old Mr Bouncer, a rabbit character shown seated and wearing a blue scarf with brown boots. Each figure is crafted from polychrome painted porcelain with a high-gloss glazed finish.
The pieces bear printed factory backstamps to the underside. The mark on the base of Old Mr Bouncer includes a crown symbol above Royal Albert England, the character name, Beatrix Potter, and copyright marks for F. Warne and Co. 1986 and 1989 Royal Albert Ltd. This figure also features hand-painted decorator marks in brown. The base of the Little Black Rabbit figurine shows a similar Royal Albert England backstamp and retains a blue oval quality control sticker inscribed Inspected By 3.
