Another Great Auction
A collection of six Beswick Beatrix Potter glazed ceramic figurines. The assortment includes the characters Pigling Bland wearing a blue knitted sweater and carrying vegetables; Benjamin Bunny in a large green tam-o’-shanter with a red pom-pom; Peter Rabbit in a blue coat; Lady Mouse in a floral dress and white bonnet with a blue and red bow; Timmy Tiptoes, a grey squirrel in a red jacket; and Tom Kitten in a blue suit and pink hat. The figurines are hand-painted with a gloss glaze finish. Underside markings on the bases identify the maker as Beswick, England, and include character names and copyright details for F. Warne & Co. Ltd. Specific markings visible include a 1951 copyright and hand-painted 85 on the Lady Mouse figure, and a 1948 copyright on the Timmy Tiptoes figure.
