Another Great Auction
This lot consists of a group of United Kingdom coinage including commemorative and circulation issues. The collection features a cupro-nickel commemorative crown (25 pence) housed in a blue velvet-lined Westminster presentation case, with the obverse displaying the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Also included is a Royal Mint 2017 Christmas Silver Sixpence, struck in .925 sterling silver, which remains encapsulated on its original red presentation card featuring a crowned portcullis reverse. The assembly is completed by a quantity of assorted UK pre-decimal and decimal coins contained in a plastic bag labelled MIX OF OLD POST 1947 COINS, comprising various denominations such as cupro-nickel half crowns and shillings, alongside brass threepences. Post-1947 circulation coinage in the UK transitioned from 50 percent silver to cupro-nickel composition.
