Another Great Auction
A set of four United Kingdom silver coins comprising denominations of four pence, three pence, two pence, and one pence. The obverse faces depict the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, accompanied by the Latin legend VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D:. The reverse of the two-pence coin features a crowned numeral 2 within a wreath, with the date 1858 split on either side. The coins are housed in a blue plastic wallet with a clear insert and a paper label that identifies the set as MAUNDY 4 – 3 – 2 AND 1 PENCE / 1858 ( 3 MAY NOT BE MAUNDY ). This indicates that the three-pence coin may be a standard circulation strike rather than a Maundy issue.
