A lot consisting of two pieces of domestic metalware from the late Victorian or early 20th-century period. The first item is a large cylindrical brass vessel with a domed lid, likely intended for use as a fireside coal or ash scuttle or a storage canister. It is constructed from sheet brass with two raised horizontal reinforcing bands. The body has a subtle hammered finish and is fitted with two circular brass ring handles to the sides. The lid is finished with a cast brass spherical finial. The second item is a small domestic tea kettle formed from copper sheet. It features a short, tapered spout and an overhead handle with a turned ebonised wood grip held by copper brackets. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on either item.
