The clock is housed in a dark-stained wooden case with a mahogany-style finish, featuring a decorative pediment and turned side columns. The circular dial comprises a white chapter ring with black Roman numerals and ornate black metal hands, surrounding a gold-toned foliate centre. The movement is an automatic Westminster chime quartz mechanism with a radio-controlled function for MSF signal reception. It features a night-time silence function which silences the chimes between 10 pm and 5 am. A separate polished gold-toned pendulum is included, decorated with an ornate central motif depicting a crown and scrollwork. The clock requires four AA batteries for operation.
