A French Limoges porcelain trinket dish or tray, designed in a stylised bird form. The piece is finished in a vibrant, monochromatic red glaze. It features an oval, shallow well with a sculptural bird’s head and neck at one end and stylised tail feathers at the other. The centre of the dish is decorated with a gilt-transfer logo depicting a minimalist bird’s head. The underside of the dish features a small printed mark in dark green reading LIMOGES France. It also displays a larger gilt script mark for the retailer Boutique Rouge, with an address at 5, Rue des Consuls, 24200 SARLAT, alongside telephone and fax numbers.
